Position Overview

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of imaging procedures, including CT and X-Rays, at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Additionally, the incumbent assists with implementing and maintaining a hospital imaging strategy, procedures, equipment and policies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work closely with Hospital Administrator in their management and direction of the daily radiology operations for the local facility
  • Participate in the clinical schedule by working a regular schedule of clinical shifts as a Rad Tech
  • Assist with maintaining staff schedule and adequate staffing levels.
  • Assist Director of Radiology with the development, implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of departmental programs, policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Ensure and maintain required documentation for compliance with general safety, radiation safety, environmental and infection control standards, and with local, state, FDA, ACR, DNV and HIPPA regulations.
  • Monitor compliance with standards, identify variances or inabilities to meet established targets and implement action to ensure that targets are met
  • Ensure radiology equipment, supplies and materials are maintained in a condition to promote efficient, safe and effective services for patients, physicians, and staff
  • Assists with assessing the accuracy of images and handling of technical troubleshooting and quality assurance issues
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established laws, policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
  • Assist with patient care and other activities as assigned by the Hospital Administrator/designee as indicated by the patient’s plan of care
  • Collect, report, and document clinical data. Take vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, pulse oximetry, and collect specimens
  • Provide for patient safety related to age and condition
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times
  • Provide and maintain a clean, safe environment and perform and/or assist others to perform proper aseptic technique, isolation procedures, and infection control measures
  • Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of the patient

Other Job Functions

  • Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
  • Travel to all facility locations as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
  • Ability to work off-hours and on call when required

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, required
  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology, required
  • Certified as a medical radiologic technologist as required by the state in which practicing, required
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association, required
  • Associate’s Degree in radiology, preferred
  • Registered Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography and/or computed tomography, preferred
  • 4+ years radiologic/imaging experience, required
  • 2+ years of CT experience, required
  • 1+ years of emergency room experience, preferred
  • Proficiency with most X-ray/CT equipment, manufacturer’s hardware/software and PACS
